SouthEast Seattle Senior Center provides a way to find out what is happening for adults 50 and older in Seattle’s Rainier Valley and surrounding neighborhoods. We strive to enhance the emotional, social and physical well-being of boomers and beyond, and we do this by providing a wide variety of classes activities ranging from exercise to games and from health education to personal enrichment.

Want to show your support for your wonderful Center while looking good? We have you covered with very stylish SESSC T-shirts and Sweatshirts. Your purchase supports the work we do to bring vital resources and build community among our seniors.

To purchase:
• Call the Center Monday – Friday, 8:30am-3:00pm at 206-722-0317 to place your order. We will prepare your order for pickup.
• Let us know the quantity and which item(s) you would like to purchase. Options are: 1) Sweatshirt2) T-shirt
Please let us know the size for each item.
• You can pay for your order in advance with credit card. You may also pay by check, credit card or cash when you come to pick up your items.
Please don’t leave a voicemail – be sure you get a live person on the phone so we can best complete your order.

Important Notice – Covid-19 Update

In order to keep our members, participants and staff as healthy and as safe as possible, the SESSC is redirecting the services we provide to seniors. Stay safe, and stay healthy!

After the last report from the Governor regarding the increase in COVID-19 cases and the anticipated increase in cases moving forward, we have decided to suspend all classes and activities taking place at the Center,

Southeast Bingo On Military Drive

effective December 1, 2020.

The following classes and activities will be affected:

  1. Foot Care
  2. Massage
  3. Exercise
  4. AA Group
  5. All Arts and Crafts Classes
  6. Computer Lab Usage
  • The Center will continue to provide meals for homebound seniors Monday through Friday.
  • All Zoom classes will continue as scheduled.
  • Our Social Worker, Jaime Clark will continue to meet with her clients at the Center.
We know these are difficult times and we want to make sure our members, participants and staff remain healthy. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, comments or concerns. Thanks and please have a Happy Thanksgiving!

COVID – 19 Updates & Derecho Response

  • SELCC is now open BY APPOINTMENT 9-4 Monday-Friday.
  • Masks are required for entry to SELCC and social distancing guidelines must be followed within the building.
  • Freestyle is open for shopping by appointment during SELCC business hours.
  • Clothing donations are accepted during business hours. Two bags/boxes of in-season clothing per drop-off.
  • Meals on Wheels clients will receive frozen meals for the week.
  • All activities are canceled (Breakfast & Bingo, Lunch & a Movie)
  • Food pantry items are available by delivery or scheduled pick-up. Food pantry clients should call or email to place their order. (Check the Food Pantry page under Programs to see this week’s list)
  • Senior Transportation will still be offered pending volunteer availability.

We know this is a challenging time for many in our community. If you have concerns about an elderly neighbor or family member, please call so we can assist them. We know many households may face economic uncertainty as various industries are impacted. If you are in need of food assistance please contact us at any time.
