A seller on eBay is flogging an “extremely rare” Sherlock Holmes 50p coin for a whopping £6,815.
The rare coin was created to mark the 160th birthday of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the detective series, who was born in 1859.
It first came into circulation back in 2019 and they are immensely popular among coin collectors.
Despite the seller on eBay claiming it’s “extremely rare”, it is believed that there are 3.4 million coins in circulation.

EBay has become one of the world's most popular sites for coin collectors and enthusiasts to find unique pieces to add to their collections. The online auction site lists hundreds of allegedly ‘rare’ coins on a daily basis. So far the person flogging the expensive coin has had 15 watchers and 4 views per hour in time of writing.

And a rare Beatrix Potter 50p coin was flogging on eBay for £4,000.
The 50p change was released to celebrate Beatrix Potter’s life and it features the dates 1866 to 1943 with Peter Rabbit at the centre.
